HVAC system design is a major sub-discipline of
mechanical engineering, based on
the principles of
thermodynamics,
fluid mechanics, and
heat transfer.
HVAC
is important in the design of medium to large industrial and office
buildings, where safe and
healthy building conditions are
regulated with temperature and humidity, as well as fresh air from
outdoors.
This industrially focussed training provides great
insight to various design aspects related to HVAC; leading to
selection of various equipment involved in it.
A wide range of
topics covers in the course is described below.
-
Guidance for
interviews
-
Basics of HVAC
-
Psychrometric analysis
-
Heat load calculations
-
Equipment sizing and
selection
-
Duct design and layout
-
Piping design related
to HVAC
-
Refrigeration basics
-
Industrial and
commercial applications
Training involves a case study; hence obtaining the overall picture of
the various systems and specific design aspects involved.
